Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Cliffs, beach and rocks The grassy chalk cliffs in this are important for wild flowers as herbicides and fertilisers have never been applied. The rocks offshore are the remnants of the resistant beds that still protect the coast in some areas close by (Stair Hole, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and here can be seen as the progression of the coast through time). The rocks are still having some effect as they are splitting the waves so they come towards each other behind the rocks. If there was more sediment available this would form a tombolo.
