Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Cliff top pools and St Gwenfaen's Holy Well above Porth Gwalch The chambered well can be seen on the right between the pool and the wall. In the Middle Ages the waters of the well were reputed to cure mental illness. Quartz pebbles (two per visit)were thrown into the water as an offering to St Gwenfaen (a female saint) whose name means "white stone". A stream emerging from the well flows through the pools before plunging down the cliff to the sea.
