Fig. 42 is a drawing byhand to show the ridge characteristics relied on ; theyare marked by the small capital letters, and arefully described. They appear in all three impressions—in theblood print on the calendar (Fig. 41), in the print onrecord in the Central Police Office (Fig. 39), and inthe print taken from Kangali Charans thumb afterhis arrest (Fig. 40). What probative value shall weassign to such distinctive similarities being found inthree prints made at intervals of time, and whatinference are we in the circumstances of this par-ticular case justified in drawing ?
