Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Classical Meitei painting of Taoroinai (also known as Tauroinai / Taoloinai / Tauloinai) - Celestial Serpentine Dragon who came from the Heavenly Realm to the Earthly Realm - a divine form / manifestation of God Pakhangba (Pakhangpa) - Traditional Meitei religion (Sanamahism) - depicted in Hiyang Hiren (alias Hiyang Hirel / Hiyaang Hilen / Hiyaang Hilel), a Meitei imperial dragon race boat - kept in the Hijagang (Boat House) of the Kangla Fort (Kangla Palace), Imphal, Kangleipak (Manipur);

In Classical Meitei language (Literary Meetei / Manipuri / Meithei / Kanglei / Poirei language), Taoroinai means the servant who floats or swims (in the cosmic ocean). Here, "tao" or "tau" means "to float", "loi" or its derivative word "-roi" means "to swim", & "nai" means "servant" (either of God Pakhangba or Goddess Leimarel / Leimalel / Leimaren / Leimalen).

The attribute "Lairen" (or Lairel / Lailen / Lailel) is prefixed / added to the name of dragon Taoroinai. The name "Pakhangba" is also sometimes sufficed / added to the name of dragon Taoroinai.
