Description
English: Copper alloy book clasp, dating to the medieval period. Flared comb at one end and hook at the other. The hooked end is slightly widerthan the main body with hatched decoration on the face. Above this area of decoration is a rivit (c. 1mm diameter). At the combed end is a small hole with concentric covered rings (2.5mm Diameter). The reverse is plain and slightly coroded where the metal has been in contact with the strap. The clasp has bent slightly out of shape.
