English: Beacon by Clare Castle The 13th century stone castle keep is set upon its 70ft high motte, situated in Clare Country Park, and accessible via a winding footpath. It overlooks the town as well as its inner and outer baileys. The inner bailey contains the former Clare railway station > 2072126 and the goods yard, which operated for over 100 years, with the goods shed > 2072121 now housing the visitor centre and railway displays. |
