| Description |
English: Clandon Park House, West Clandon. Clandon Park was purchased by Sir Richard Onslow in 1641 and the family have lived in the park ever since. The house was rebuilt in the 1720s. By the 20C the upkeep was beyond the family, and it was presented to the national Trust in 1956. The 7th Earl lives in a smaller house in the park. Clandon Park House is in the Palladian style, an austere classicism. The photograph shows the south front, and the formal parterre of box hedges. |
