English: Clacton VOR/DME Navigation beacon. This is a VOR transmitter (VOR stands for "V"ery High Frequency "O"mni directional "R"adio). They are used for on route navigation of aircraft or for holding patterns or runways approaches in bad weather. The Clacton VOR is found between Weeley and Thorpe-le-Soken by Weeleyhall Wood Nature Reserve. |
