Sediu al Episcopiei Ortodoxe Române, Clădirea Diecezanei a fost prima clădire publică cu o arhitectura neoromânească care s-a construit în orașul Arad [3]. A fost proiectată de celebrul Layos (Ludovic) Szántay - conform listei sale (nr. 16 / Diecezana) aflată în arhiva Uniunii Arhitecților din România [4].
Din 1909 a funcționat ca Librăria Diecezana , care vindea la un preț avantajos cărți bisericeşti, cărți şcolare, pedagogice şi literare, obiecte bisericeşti şi material didactic [5].
În anul 1912 a fost mutată aici și Tipografia Diecezana a Episcopiei Ortodoxe [6].
Astăzi, în clădire se găsesc câteva locuințe și magazinul „Diecezana”[7].
