Description
Nederlands: Het Afghaanse militaire vliegveld Tarin Kowt Airfield krijgt een nieuwe civiele terminal. Het project wordt gefinancierd door Nederland en Duitsland. Het is de bedoeling dat de bouw in juni 2011 is afgerond. Eenmaal klaar kan de terminal 150 passagiers per uur afhandelen. De nieuwe faciliteit moet minstens 10 jaar lang in de behoeften van reizigers uit Uruzgan gaan voorzien.

Onlangs richtte Kam Air, de enige civiele Afghaanse luchtvaartmaatschappij die tot nu op Tarin Kowt vliegt, haar bedrijfsprocessen al efficiënter in. Daardoor kunnen per vlucht 40 in plaats van 18 passagiers mee. Bovendien gaat Kam Air vaker vliegen. Het aantal vluchten van Tarin Kowt naar Kabul wordt verhoogd van 2 naar 3 per week. Hierdoor kunnen 120 in plaats van 36 passagiers per week heen en weer vliegen tussen de hoofdstad en de provinciehoofdstad. In de toekomst kan het aantal passagiers dankzij de nieuwe terminal nog meer toenemen.
