The legislative department makes laws, the executivedepartment enforces the law, and the judiciary departmentinterprets the law and applies it in particular cases. The legislature, composed of a senate of fifty membersand an assembly of one hundred and fifty members, is thechief constituent of the States legislativedepartment.
