We havethe advantage over the other contestantsin numbers, and it is only a matter oftraining and practice to enable the Citadelto win this year. However, do not thinkthat the cadets will have a walkover, forthe other teams are out for the cup, anda defeat for the Bulldogs now will meanthree more years until we can get anothercup to put up with the two others whichhave already been won. TRACK For the last two or three years, notmuch opportunity has been offered fortrack work at the Citadel, and altho wehave had some exceptionally good materialfor a strong team, we were unable to getin a meet. BASEBALL The baseball squad had rather a latestart at the Citadel the past season; andthere was not a veteran t2am from theyear b.efore to begin with, but a lot ofnew material to train. This material, how-ever, was developed into a pretty goodfighting machine by Coach Tommy McMil-lan in the course of a series of games inwhich the cadets, altho defeated, put upa very creditable game. The infield was perhaps one of the bestthat the Blue and White ever had; andthe batting average of the entire team,.275, showed that they knew how toswat the ball, which is the first requisiteof a college baseball team.
