imer & Amend. The prescription roomis Avell supplied with prescription balances and thegeneral laboratories with balances for less delicateweighing. Specimen Cabinets.—For the study of pharma-cognosy there are cabinets of over 2,500 specimensof drugs, chemicals and preparations. These cab-inets are for class work, and are known as ^work-ing cabinets. There is also the Eli Lilly & Co.reference cabinet of crude drugs (roots, barks,leaves, flowers, seeds, etc.), as they occur in thedrug market. Finally a collection of rare drugs,an herbarium of medicinal plants, and a collectionof minerals. For microscopic pharmacognosy, andfor the detection of adulteration in drugs, there aremicroscopes, and appliances for section cutting,mounting and similar work. Books and Refeeences.—The leading pharma-ceutical journals are kept on file, accessible to thestudent. Students also have access, under certainrestrictions, to the standard reference books onmateria medica, chemistry and pharmacy.
