| Description |
Three things about this church: There are RC churches with the dedication in nearby Midsomer Norton, in Genoa and in Whitman, Massachusetts but Crowcombe's is probably the only Anglican Church of the Holy Ghost in Britain. Until 1724, when it's spire was damaged by lightning and removed, it was one of the few West Somerset churches to have one. When I entered it in November 2008 it was for the first time since August 1949 when I was camping in the grounds of at nearby Halsway Manor with the 1st Hatch End Scout Troop. Robert Cutts |
