English: Church of St Andrew's, Boreham, Essex, mural monument to Mary Wootton (1739-1805), a daughter of John Wootton (1708-1764) of Greenhithe in the parish of Swanscombe, Kent, and widow of William Tyssen (1732-1788) of Waltham House, Chesham, Hertfordshire, son of Samuel Tyssen (1698-1748), youngest son of Francis Tyssen (1653-1710) "the younger" of Shaklewell in the parish of Hackney, Middlesex, a wealthy merchant in the City of London, who owned property in Hackney (including the rectory and advowson), Hoxton, Shoreditch, Stepney, Whitechapel, Essex and land in Offord Darcy and Offord Cluny in Huntingdonshire. (Source: Stirnet [1]). "The Tyssens were formerly merchants at Flushing, in Holland, but about the reign of James II they settled in London and became naturalised subjects. Like many other City merchants at that time, they seem to have fixed their abode at Hackney and Shacklewell, and several of them were buried in Hackney Church." (Source: Centre for the Study of the Legacies of British Slavery has been established at UCL [2]). As stated in the inscription, the monument was erected by her only child and heiress Sarah Tyssen, wife of Sir John Tyrell, 1st Baronet (1762–1832) of Boreham House, a Deputy Lieutenant of Essex, and mother of Sir John Tyssen Tyrell, 2nd Baronet (1795–1877).

Also Mr Richard Wootton of Northfleet, native of Greenhithe in this Parish died 10 August 1796 aged 59 years. also Mrs Mary Wootton of Northfleet wife of the above Mr Richard Wootton died 18 October 1828 in his 86th year".
