| Description |
English: Church at Kirby Grindalythe. Unfortunately the tower is in need of attention due to erosion - one of the pinnacles has recently fallen (see RH side) and so the area is out of bounds for safety.
Update January 2008: (information from an email) St Andrew's church was restored at the end of last year(2007). Work started on the church about the end of July and was completed about the end of September. A new pinnacle has been made and another replaced. A new lead roof on the tower (contracted firm) and has had about 350 stones replaced all hand made by myself(emailer) and 3 other men. It has been repointed 95%. Its also had new guttering all around the church and sometime this year is due to have the main roof replaced. |
