Summary
[edit]DescriptionChurch Lane and St Andrew's Church - geograph.org.uk - 1247960.jpg |
English: Church Lane & St Andrew's Church Church Lane is one of several lanes and paths which all head towards St Andrew's, which was once the centre of England's largest parish. Aysgarth church is half a mile from the centre of the village, and whilst it is possible that the village has moved over the centuries, it is more likely that church and village were always separate, with the village on an area of flatter land and the church next to a bridging point on the river. |
