Description

Français : Le nom de Lavoute vient de la boucle que la Loire décrit aux pieds du rocher qui sert de base au château. Le jeune fleuve lui-même semble se laisser prendre par la beauté du paysage. Les Polignac furent attirés en ces lieux non seulement par le charme du site à l’entrée du val d’Emblavès (riche terre à blé), mais aussi par les bois profonds qui dévalent du mont Courant et des hauteurs voisines. Ces forêts étaient un repaire de sangliers et de loups. Quelle joie pour ces seigneurs de chasser les cerfs au milieu des sons de trompes, des aboiements de la meute et des cris de leurs invités se répercutant au fond des bois.”
