Deutsch: Chronogramm an der Heiligen Stiege auf dem Kreuzberg in Bonn-Poppelsdorf. Wenn man nur die roten Buchstaben (und das erste I in Antistite) als römische Ziffern auffasst und die entsprechenden Zahlen addiert, erhält man 1 x M + 5 x C + 4 x L + 1 x X + 6 x V + 11 x I = 1000 + 500 + 200 + 10 + 30 + 11 = 1751, das Jahr der Baufertigstellung. Das erste I in Antistite ist bei der Restaurierung (?) irrtümlich schwarz gestrichen worden, es müsste auch rot sein (sonst wäre das Chronogramm nicht rein und ergäbe eine falsche Jahreszahl, außerdem betrüge die Zahl der roten Ziffern nur 27 und nicht – wie beabsichtigt – 28 als Zahl der Stufen, aus denen die Stiege besteht). Die Übersetzung lautet: Die Stiege Jesu, der für uns gelitten hat, von Clemens-August, dem Kurfürsten und Erzbischof von Köln, fromm, erhaben und kostbar erbaut und vollendet |
