Title
"Portrait of Anna of Austria"
Description
English: Portrait of Christine of France (1606-1663), misidentified with her sister-in-law Anne of Austria (1601-1666).

"In this painting we can see Anna of Austria (1606-1666), standing in front of a dark gray background, with a curtain pulled tight to the left. She is dressed in a black robe, which is decorated with black lace and a coarse pendant with precious stones and pearls. She has a narrow face with slightly reddened cheeks, red lips and shiny brown eyes.

Anna of Austria was an infanta of Spain who became Queen of France as the wife of King Louis XIII. She later became regent to her son Louis XIV until 1651. During her regency, Cardinal Mazarin serves as France's chief minister."
