Summary
[edit]DescriptionChristine Apartments - fmr Charles Kurtzmann & Co. Building - Buffalo, New York - 20200715.jpg |
English: The Christine Apartments, 526 Niagara Street at Pennsylvania Street, Buffalo, New York, July 2020. Wherein the Romanesque Revival style is exemplified by such features as the decorative corbel table underneath the parapet on the Niagara Street façade, the round arches atop the top- and bottom-story windows, and the projecting stone band courses extending the width of the façade. The building was erected in 1891 and served originally as the Charles Kurtzmann and Company piano factory, which they occupied until 1947 or '48, by which point they had switched to manufacturing furniture and electrical appliances. The building passed through the hands of a number of other commercial and industrial concerns until its conversion to apartments in 1992. |
