The flowers- are borne in slender racemes of eight or ten florets each, on light drooping branches, giving a peculiarly graceful appearance to the bush. They are 1 !2 inches in diameter, the petals pure snowy-white, the calyx and receptacle showing a small dot of green in the center of each, while the unexpanded buds are like small, round buttons or beads of pearly whiteness. There is a delicate fragrance which adds to the charm of these beautiful blossoms. Price, 3 ft., 50 cents each; larger plants, 75 cents each. ELJEAGNUS LONGIPES, new "Japanese Olive." A fruit-bearing ornamental shrub from Japan: the fruit is borne in great abundance the whole length of the branches. It ripens in July and August; about the size of a cherry, with a rich, sprightly flavor, much more luscious than any cherry. ORDERS FOR ALL HARDY SHRUBS AND TREES SHOULD REACH US BY MAY 1st., AT LATEST, AFTER WHICH DATE GROWTH BEGINS, WHEN IT IS TOO LATE TO REMOVE FROM OPEN GROUND AND SHIP LONG DISTANCES.
