A diagram and explanation of the Chogam-je, ritual in Jeju Island shamanism

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: This is a diagram with accompanying explanation of the procedures of the Chogam-je (Hanja: 初監祭, lit. "Ritual of First Supervision"). The Chogam-je is the first ritual in the Keun Gut (lit. "Great Ritual"), which is the most sacred ceremony in the shamanistic religion of Jeju Island, South Korea. The explanation is from Lee Soo-ja's 2004 work Jeju-do musok-eul tonghaeseo bon Keun Gut yeoldu-geori-ui gujojeok wonhyeong-gwa sinhwa, pp. 146--169.
