Opis vrste

D.t. 14–16 cm. Naseljava celu Evropu, Malu Aziju, Kavkaz i deo severne Afrike. Veštački je naseljena u Australiju i Novi Zeland. Stanarica je i skitalica na većem delu areala. Staništa su joj obodi šuma različitog tipa, mozaični predeli, poljoprivredna područja, parkovi, voćnjaci i vrtovi. Gnezda gradi u krošnjama drveća. Hrani se semenjem, plodovima biljaka, insektima i njihovim larvama. Evropska populacija je stabilna, dok u Srbiji beleži blagi porast brojnosti procenjene na 140.000–220.000 parova (Puzović et al 2009).
