| Description |
The Chisinau to Bucharest train, Prietenia. This daily train is one of the world unique trains. Certainly one of the lesser known international services. The equipment is a mixed bag of Soviet, and East German build Ammendorf style cars. The change of gauge from standard to Russian gauge takes place at the Moldovan frontier town of Ungheni. The hard switching that takes place during the process of rebuilding the train in an experience all by itself. The 2 berth sleepers are very comfortable and the train has a buffet car that has snacks and of course beer and vodka at very reasonable prices. |
