Deutsch: Der Chinesische Pavillon in Dresden-Weißer Hirsch wurde anlässlich der Ersten Internationalen Hygiene-Ausstellung 1911 als Ausstellungspavillon und Exponat des Chinesischen Kaiserreichs auf dem Ausstellungsgelände am Straßburger Platz in Dresden im Auftrag der kaiserlichn chinesischen Regierung errichtet. Zuvor hatten Zimmerleute aus Shanghai die traditionelle, chinesische Hallenkonstruktion in China aufgebaut und anschließend in Einzelteile zerlegt; diese wurden dann nach Dresden verschifft und auf dem Ausstellungsgelände wieder zusammengesetzt. Nach Ende der Hygieneausstellung ließ die chinesische Regierung den Pavillon samt Innenausstattung als Gastgeschenk in Dresden zurück. Die erst 1921 nach Dresden eingemeindete Ortschaft Weißer Hirsch kaufte den Chinesischen Pavillon und stellte ihn in unmittelbarer Nähe des Rathauses der Gemeinde wieder auf. Zuvor musste für den ursprünglich eingeschossigen Holzbau geländebedingt noch ein Sockelgeschoss aufgemauert werden. Am 1. August 1912 konnte der Chinesische Pavillon — nun als Lesecafé — wiedereröffnet werden. Nach unterschiedlicher Nutzung, zwischen 1913 und 2007, wurde er von 2007 bis 2015 denkmalgerecht saniert. Ab 1. Oktober 2015 ist der Chinesische Pavillon Begegnungsstätte für den deutsch-chinesischen Austausch und wird vom Verein Chinesischer Pavillon zu Dresden für kulturelle Veranstaltungen genutzt. Außer diesem Pavillon gibt es auch noch andere Chinesische Pavillons in Deutschland; diese wurden jedoch nicht in traditioneller, chinesischer Bauweise errichtet, sondern meist im späten 17. und im 18. Jahrhundert — dem Zeitgeschmack entsprechend — im Stil der Chinoiserie. ( → vgl. Chinesischer Pavillon / Dresden-Weißer Hirsch) |
