Summary
[edit]DescriptionChinese built Xian MA60 aircraft- they allowed me to go almost upto the tarmac to take this picture (14605014312).jpg | After I had checked in, I tried to have a light breakfast at the tiny tea counter at LP airport. Unfortunately only dry snacks like chips were available. I therefore had a large pot of Lao tea (with their irritating habit of serving you hot water and tea leaves separately, so you have tea floating all over the cup and you need to work your upper lip through all those leaves to get at the tea underneath). With zero security, and with the gates not yet open and still some 40 min to go, I walked out of the airport again, where I spotted another Chinese MA60 aircraft. The chaps on the tarmac were surprised that I even asked if I could take a pic, their only restriction was no going onto the tarmac itself. Well, from the gates to the tarmac was close enough for me! Notes about this rare aircraft and another picture appear at the very beginning of this album. (Luang Prabang, Laos/ Lao PDR, April 2014) |
