Las chinches zapateras son probablemente las chinches más abundante de la fauna ibérica

Las larvas pasan por cinco estadios, con una duración de entre 17 y 24 días en condiciones de laboratorio constantes, aunque en la naturaleza se alarga considerablemente. Las larvas fracasan en su desarrollo a temperaturas inferiores a los 15 °C, probablemente debido al cese de actividad alimentaria a bajas temperaturas.
