ZINNIAS CHILDS' SPECIAL DOUBLE STRAINS This Zinnia is a robust free-grower, furnishing an abundance of large, double blossoms which are varied and brilliant colors, during the entire summer and fall. Each flower keeps perfect for six weeks before fading, and each plant is a great mass of bloom all the time, making a showing which is peculiar. Nothing else can fill their place. Seeds should be started inside or sown in the garden about corn-planting time. We grow the finest Zinnias in the world. Our Improved, Light Bright and Striped, Lilliput, Fire Ball, Snow Ball, Cardinal, Giant, etc., cannot be excelled. Per Pkt. Childs' Improved (608)—Light, bright and striped, a grand strain representing all the leading colors. Mostly light, striped and very bright colors. The striped colors are very attractive indeed. There is some pure white and lots of light yellow, buff, chrome and primrose shades. Flowers very double and durable 10 Fire Ball (609)—Dwarf habit, double blossoms of in- tense scarlet, as round and perfect as a ball. It makes a fine border or mass, its bright color and perfect habit showing to great advantage 10 Snow Ball (610)—Exactly like Fire Ball, except in color, which is snow white. Finest white Zinnia. . .10 Golden Ball (611)—Bright golden yellow 10 Lilac (612)—Beautiful lilac color 10 New Giant Cardinal (613)—This Zinnia bears one of the most intensely colored cardinal flowers we have ever seen. It is rare that one finds such a beautiftrt scarlet in any flower. The flower itself is very large and perfectly double. There is no doubt but that it is the finest Zinnia yet introduced 2® Pompon, or Lilliput, Mixed Colors (614)—This strain is the acme of perfection in Zinnias. Plants of bushy growth, each one bearing scores of beautiful blossoms of the most perfect shape and brilliant colors. These charming Zinnias are gems indeed. Always double as roses and each plant bears three times as many flowers as the other sorts 1Q NEW GIANT ZINNIAS (Broad-flowered) Flowers of wonderful size and beauty are borne on plants of this new imported strain. Our stock is pure and genuine, as we imported seed the first year it was offered and have since grown it at home. Giant Double (615)—Enormous blossoms opening flat like a Chinese Chrysanthemum. Flowers very much larger than any other Zinnia and quite distinct in shape. There are several fine colors, including pure white, lemon, orange, crimson, scarlet, rose, etc. Sure'to give satisfaction.. Mixed colors 10 Giant White (616)—White is a rare color in all Zin- nias, but we have it here very pure, absolutely true and of immense double size 20 CHILDS' CONICAL ZINNIAS (617) We have been several years developing this strain of Zinnia by careful selection, and in a good sit- uation where the plant has a chance to develop, it will come nearly one hundred per cent true to form, as shown on this plate. No Zinnia can equal it in true grandeur and stateliness. The immense blossoms continue to de- velop for two or three weeks, until they are of mammoth size and symmetrical cone shape, as shown on plate. Colors, white, crimson, scarlet, violet, lilac, yellow, sal- mon, orange, striped, etc. The flowers remain perfect much longer than those of the Giant Zinnia, which are flat, of wider expanse, and somewhat frail, although very brilliant in colors. Give this cone-shaped Zinnia a chance, and you will see finer Zinnia blossoms than you ever dreamed of. Pkt., 20c; 3 pkts. for 50c. NEW ZINNIA, ACHIEVEMENT (618) An English novelty which is described as fol- lows: It is distinct from all other Zinnias hitherto raised by the shape of its petals, which are partially tubular at the base and expand in a cactus-like form towards the tip, thereby displaying a rich variety of color, mostly of the warmer shades, such as pale rose, deep rose, sal- mon, lilac, scarlet, and coppery golden yellow. On the reverse side the petals are of a lilac tint, varying from light to dark, and by their singular contour they produce in the flower a rare and beautiful combination of color never before seen amongst Zinnias. Our trials show that it is an improvement on the old Quilled Zinnia, cer- tainly distinct from other sorts and quite pretty. Pkt., 15C. NEW ZINNIA, PICOTEE (619) A California novelty which in general effect is not as showy as our older strains but the petals of the large double blossoms are tipped with a distinct color, and many of the individual blossoms are exquisitely beautiful. Pkt., 10c. NEW STAR ZINNIAS (Z. Mexicana Hybrids) (620) These elegant low-growing Zinnias are covered all summer long with flowers about two inches across which show the most intense colors and varied combina- tions we have ever seen. The rich velvety petals, looking almost ike some fabric, range in colors from deep crim- son-maroon to white, including yellow and orange shades. Most of the flowers are bordered or zoned in a manner which makes them remarkably effective. Among them will be some perfectly double. Pkt., 10c; 3 pkts., 25c. SPECIAL OFFER—For $1.20 we will send one packet each of the 13 fine Zinnias offered on this page. A most superb collection.
