SPRING CATALOGUE OF SEEDS BULBS AND PLANTS FOR 1916. TUB. BECOW/A,
Text Appearing After Image:
SUMMER FLOWERING BULBS. Bulbs are favorites with ail, and they are planted by many who will not grow any other class of flowers. They are so easily grown and so satisfactory to everyone that they are invaluable. Summer-flowering Bulbs require no skill and very little attention to grow them to perfection. Plant them in the»garden in spring, after severe freezing is passed, and they will soon be up and will flourish and bloom all summer. In Autumn, after early freezing, the Bulbs should be lifted and stored in a cellar or some other position away from frost, for planting again the follow- ing spring. We are headquarters for Summer-flowering Bulbs, and grow and sell more of them than any other two 'houses in the world. s^cidaqtfyera Bicolor. A lovely new Bulbous plant which blooms all summer and fall in the garden or pots. Flowers very large and creamy white, with a conspicuous chocolate center. En- tirely unlike anything else, and is easily grown in any situation. The Bulbs start growth late, generally the first of July before they show above ground, and look like a Gladiolus. Flowers delicately scented. 3 for 5c; 12 for IOC; 100 for 75c Amorphophallus Rivieri A large, easily grown bulb which has very or- namental foliage and a coal black flower which is or enormous size, gen- erally not less than two feet in length, it is a great oddity and attracts every observer. The flow- er usually appears soon after the bulb is potted and before the foliage starts. This is a very odd and interesting plant not often seen in collections. 10c. each; 3 for 25c; Extra large, 2 5c. each; Mammoth size, 75c each. AMORo RIVIE
