GLADIOLUS CHILDSI-- ~ SUMMER-FLOWERING BULBS. Tall and erect, standing four an.l five feet high, with spikes of bloom over two feet in length. The flowers are of great size frequently seven to nine inches across. 1 he form ol both flowers and spike is perfection itself, and they last in bloom a long time before fading, owing to their great substance and vigor, but the most remarkaole feature is the coloring. Orchids cannot surpass them in their varied and daiicate shades, markings and blendings. Every color known among Gladiolus is represented, and many never before seen, particularly blues, smoky grays and purple blackball having beautifully mottled throats, made up of white, crimson, pink, yellow, etc, and m this peculiar net- work or charming spots and colors lies one of its special points of unsurpassed beauty. They outrank all other Glad- iolus in size of spike, size of bloom, vigor, varied and mag- nificent coloring and freedom of bloom. The following varieties at 10c each: ami 3 for 8or., 90c. pei doz., $7.00 per 100; one each of '25 fine sorts for $2.00. BrilliantâBeautiful orange-red with carmine and white throat. Superior to all other scarlets. BostonâFlaming orange-scarlet, with white throat. Bowdoin âVery large flower, light orange-scanet, with large, pure white throat. Very exquisite. Buffalo âA line combination and mottling ot ditlerent shades of red. , ., ^ * Compacta-Large flower, very compact. Wide spike. ltos> blush, slisthtlv striped and mottled pink. Dawnray-Elegant rose with large white center, spreading over all petals. Very distinct. . . Dr. Farkhurst-A spike nearly three feet in length and bearing upwards of 25 flowers. Dark brilliant red, with an elegantly white mottled throat- A superb variety. @r. Sellew â Deep, rich rosy carmine slightly penciled darker. Petals and throat rayed white. . Etbel-Beautiful soft rose with white and crimson. Expansion â Large widely expanded blossoms. White, pink and crimson freely mottled. . Geo. B. Remsen-Crimson and white intermixed. BLenry Gillmanâ Deep salmon-scarlet, with pure white bands: the throat showing peculiar mottlings I. S HendricksonâOne of the very largest of all Gladiolus flowers, making an immense, wide spike. Color white marked, flaked and penciled bright pink. Ireae-Fine large flower and stalk. Color a fine shade of pink freely flaked bright crimson. , Kate-Blush white with crimson blotched throat. Wlfefcle-White, tinted blush; violet crimson throat. Mohattkâ Deep dark pink with spotted throat, shaded orange and flaked with crimson. Tvlrs. W. N. Large magenta strains- SalmonâA fine, rich, salmon pink. _ Torcn-T/ight -Verv large spike of large, light, flaming scar- let Bowers. Throat mottled and spotted white. Wyandanch -Very light red. White throat.
