JOHN LEWIS CHILDS, FLORAL PARK, N. Y. (Calceolaria. Not one in ten of our customers have ever seen a Calceolaria in bloom, yet it is one of the handsomest and most striking pot plants we know of. Seeds fine, and must be sown with care, but after they are fairly up they grow well, and will bloom the next winter. Each plant bears hundreds of pocket-like flowers, spotted and marked in the most curious manner. Our great show of Calceolarias during the late winter and spring months is one of the noted attractions of Floral Park. Per Pkt. Dwarf Hybrids—Large flowering, mixed colors... .15 Crandiflora—Spotted and tigered, as well as fine self colors; very large and exceedingly fine 20 PLANTS—A few fine well grown plants at 40c. each; 3 for $1.00.
Text Appearing After Image:
A wondrously beautiful greenhouse or win- dow plant, and not at all hard to grow. Seeds germinate quickly and easily, and young plants grow off without any trouble. Keep in a shady place over summer and remove to house in fall. Use insecticides to keep free from aphis, and as flower buds show give good light. A beautiful plant, the large, luxuriant leaves surmounted in late winter and spring by immense panicles of magnificent largo flowers of the most bril- liant colors. Nothing could be more effective in the window; in fact no flower is more showy or effective, and the flowds last in full glory for two or throe months. Colors exceedingly rich and velvety, ranging from crimson-black to pure white, through all the shades of crimsons and blues, frequently with large white centers or exquisite borders. Per pkt. Crandiflora Mixed—Large-flowering prize varieties 10 Crandiflora, Dwarf Mixed-Two to three inches across and of the richest and most varied colors. The immense head of bloom is like a beautiful bouquet, finely sot off by the large. bacdecme leaves, above which it towers. .20 Double-Flower*-.—Extra ehoice mixed, all fine, double blossoms in immense clusters 25 PL ANTS—A few fine plants at 40c. each; 3 for $1.00
