FALL CATALOGUE OF BULBS THAT BLOOM FOR 1909. 17 TRITONIA OR CARDINAL FREESIA, It is somewhat-misleading to call this a Freesia, though in foliage and general habit it is just like one, but is far su- perior in blooming qualities. It is really a new variety of Tritonia and the most brilliant winter-flowering bulb in cultivation. Treated like a Freesia it produces spikes of large, well open flowers of the most intense cardinal color, It is very easily grown and sure to bloom in pots during winter, and is hardy enough to bloom in the open ground south of Mass. It created a genuine sensation at the JNew York Horticultural Show where we exhibited it= Cardinal—Large wide-open blossoms of a rich cardinal red; very brilliant, and continues long in bloom. 5c. each; 4 for 15c.; 12 for 30c. Mixed Hybrids—All colors, crimson, orange, yellow, white, pink, striped, etc. Among these are the most brilliant and striking combinations. 20c. per dozen.

Freesias. A new class of bulbs, splendidly adapted to winter blooming in the window. They are always sure to succeed and bloom elegantly for anyone in any situation, and the great beauty and fragrance of the flowers are everywhere admired. The blossoms or buds when cut and placed in vases of water will keep perfect two weeks. In pots they commence blooming early and continue for a long time, the stems branching freely and producing several clusters of bloom in succession. Four to six bulbs can be planted in a 5-inch pot. They commence growing immediately after planting and need not be put away to form roots like Hya- cinths, unless it is more convenient to do so. Planting suc- cessively from Sept ember to November will give a succession of bloom through the winter. Their free growth, abundant bloom, delicate beauty and charming fragrance is a delight to all. Bulbs we supply are extra large and strong. Snowstorm—(New)—A splendid novelty. Flowers of large size, beautiful shape, and borne abundantly in magnifi- cent large sprays. Pure snow white, and highly fra- grant. Strong bulbs. 3 for loc. °, 12 for 30c. Various Colored Grandiflora — A grand new strain pos- sessing many tints, colors and variegations. Not only are the white and yellow colors seen, but pink, orange, vio- let, primrose, canary and some purple shades. The flow- ers are of gigantic size and borne in extra large clusters. The fragrance is rich and powerful- All colors mixed. 6 for 15c.: 12 for 25c.: loo for $1.50. Mammoth French—Bulbs of enormous size.
