Tobacco, Persian M^scatelle. This is the best of all, an exceedingly ornamental plant, and so early it can be grown in any State. It is from thegarden of the King of Persia. It is one of the earliest varie-ties, of a remarkably strong, vigorous growth, attaining theheight of five to seven feet The stalks are strong, thicklyset with leaves, many of them measuring 3K to 4>£ feet inlength, with proportionate width. The leaves are usuallysmall ribbed, very elastic, of finest possible texture, a lightbrown color, and mild flavor. Pkt., ioc ; oz., 50c SPRING CATALOGUE OF SEEDS, BULBS AND PLANTS FOR 1910. 73

Potato, Monarch of prance. This remarkable Novelty was supplied by the French Gov-ernment and it has certainly proved to. be a wonderful thing. The French Department of Agriculture has spent a good dealof money to introduce it in France ou account of its remarkablepoints of merit- It is claimed to be the most prolific Potato onthe market and not alone that but what is more important yet, that it is almost frost proof, entirely free from the disastrous ef-fects of the Potato blight audrot, which frequently play terriblehavoc with other kinds not only in Europe but in America. Fur-thermore, it was claimed that, it would do well in wet marshyground, also in shallow soils where no other Potato would grow-Our trials at Floral Park have borne out these claims. The fold-age was green and luxuriant to the end of the season withoutany sign of blight when other kinds planted near it Avere full ofmildew. When dug the crop was found to be enormously heavy. The skin of the Potato is smooth and untouc
