Childs Kaleidoscope — Beautiful enough to be classedamong pot plants, yet with a fine sharp flavorthat makesit valuable in the garden also. From the time the prettyplum-like peppers form until they are fully grown, theyare of a light yellowish-cream color- As they commenceto ripen they change, first to clear canary color, thendeepening to orange, then again turning to pink or rose,varying from shade to shade until they become a yivid,shining scarlet. One of these Pepper plants, with itsdark green leaves,and hanging full of charming pink,yel-low, rose and red fruits, is exceedingly beautiful. Keeps Perfect a Year. This most remarkable Pumpkin, a good companion toour famous Everlasting Cucumber, was originated by a Mr.Tanderveer, of Flatbush, L. I. Attention was first called toits wonderful keeping qualities when he first (a few yearssince) exhibited three specimens of it at one of the LongIsland Agricultural fairs and took first premium in the faceof great competition. The same three specimens werekept in perfect condition,and exhibited again the nextyear, again taking first premium. This amply illustratesits Everlasting or keeping qualities. Pumpkins in first classcondition the year round is the just and proud claim for it-But this is not all for in addition to its great keeping qualitiesit is probably the best all around variety for family use incultivation. In quality, size and color it is unexcelled, It israther flat or cheese-shaped, creamy in color outside, abright deep orange inside- Cavity very small, the flesh beingexceedingly thick.
