The fashionable plant of the day, and richly does it de-serve its honor, for in addition to very handsome foliage itbears a never ending profusion of the most ravishinglybeautiful flowers the whole summer, and then, with thecoming of cold weather, very obligingly takes a nan untilspring, asking no further care through the winter than to bepacked in soil away from frost. This trait wili be appreciat-ed by the many people who have no spare windows to carryover tender bedding plants yet dislike to be at the expenseof buying a new lot each spring- This great plant is a rivalto the Gloxinia as a summer, window or conservatory plant,and as strong a rival to the Geranium and Verbena as anoutdoor bedding plant, The enormous size and intensebrilliancy of the flowers astonish those who have neverseen any but the ordinary house Begonia.
