Nearly half of the colonists on the Anza Expedition of 1775-76 were children. Today, kids can try on replica artifacts from the expedition at heritage events along the Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail. This photo was taken September 2010 at the opening of the Anza Trail exhibit in Martinez, CA.
