[edit]DescriptionChief tours future AFRICOM facility (8801409096).jpg | Lt. Gen. Thomas P. Bostick, the chief of engineers and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers commanding general, gets a tour of Building 3317 on Kelley Barracks in Germany from Stuttgart Resident Office personnel May 14. Pictured, from left, are: Col. Peter Helmlinger, Europe District commander; Stuttgart Resident Engineer Shaun Frost; Rudi Zink, project engineer; Bostick, Steve Roberts and Akemi Herrick, project engineer. The project calls for renovation of an old office area, formerly used by the Directorate of Public Works and USACE, into a new joint operations center for Africa Command. Herrick said the $7.2 million overhaul is AFRICOM’s top priority at the moment. The Stuttgart Resident Office has targeted next April for completion. (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers courtesy photo) |
