A rattle anda thud as we cross the railroad tracks, the dustflying from the hoofs of our nimble steeds. Onemore sharp turn, a start into a private drive-way, and here we are at our destination—Sun-nyside. One reason, perhaps, why the summer hotel—roadhouse, some people call it—named Sun-ny side is so popular is that it is just withincomfortable driving distance of the city. Anhour and a half, or two hours (counting for thecustomary stop at Fischers) is the time allowedfor the journey. The hotel itself, kept by theDowling family for years, is a great ramblingold wooden building standing in the midst ofspacious grounds.
