Notes

Made of 64 tiles of amber, ebony and ivory. Decorated with:

  1. inscriptions - OTII CAVSA – DOMINO SVO – SERVVS DEDICAT (the domain of leisure - to his lord - servant dedicate) and quotes from the Artis amatoriae liber III,
  2. cartouches with the coat of arms of Sigismund III and with the arms and monogram of the donor: H (ieronim) W (ołowicz) P (odskarbi) L (itewski) - Hieronim Wołowicz, Treasurer of Lithuania,
  3. figural reliefs - head of the Roman Emperor, nymph Scacchis on the waves of the Seria River (from a poem Scacchia Ludus written in Latin by Marcus Hieronymus Vida).
