English: Place: Pingtung, Taiwan
In Taiwan the Chinese carmaker Chery sold cars [in low numbers] like the Fresh (A1), Apola (A3) and a Karry pick-up. Chery revealed the Pininfarina-styled A3 hatchback Concept in 2006, followed by the production version of the sedan in 2007. By that time it was my favourite Chinese car with great styling and impressive safety levels (in 2008 it was the first car from a local Chinese brand to achieve five stars in the C-NCAP crashtests). It's a shame to see the brand struggling for many years now. |
