Summary
[edit]DescriptionChequers Bridge, Basingstoke Canal - geograph.org.uk - 478387.jpg |
English: Chequers Bridge, Basingstoke Canal This bridge, which carries the metalled road southwards out of Crookham, is clearly of fairly modern construction and it appears to me that the traffic which once crossed Poulter's Bridge (next one to the east) at some stage switched to Chequers Bridge. Some research is necessary on this.
In the present picture, again there is evidence of localised use for boating before the canal had been restored. |
