The Central Railway Station, Chennai, India designed by architect George Harding, is one of the most prominent landmarks in Chennai

Summary

Description	English: The 'Madras Central Station' designed by George Harding and built in the Gothic Revival style was opened in 1873. Robert Chisholm redesigned the station by adding the Central Clock Tower, and Travancore 'Caps' on the main Tower and the modifications were completed in 1900 The duplication of main building was added in 1998. It is the busiest Railway station in South India. The Central Station is a part of the Central Square which encampasses the areas surrounding the Ripon Building, Victoria Public Hall, Suburban Station Complex, the Southern Railway Headquarters and the Government General Hospital which are being developed as part of the Central Square.
