Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Staff Sgt. Dylan M. Worrell observes the terrain at the bottom of a cavern March 29 before commencing confined space entry training at a cave on Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa, Japan. Training in the 84-foot deep cavern allowed chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defense Marines to train in a real world underground environment that presented geographic and tactical challenges. During the training, the Marines rappelled into the cavern in teams of two or three and performed rigging, reconnaissance, sampling and casualty evacuation. Worrell is a CBRN defense specialist with Headquarters Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force and a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, native.
