Description

Ngong Ping 360 is a three-part, 25-minute gondola ride that starts at Tung Chung and goes to Ngong Ping Village and its Buddhist monastery Po Lin. The gondola is automatically transferred between the three cables, and the first of the two transfer stations is located on Chek Lap Kok Island, which also hosts Hong Kong International Airport.

Here is an overview of the airport. Lots of passenger and cargo traffic, mostly on widebody aircraft.

This long gondola ride is proving to be a torture, thanks to a particularly loud couple of lovebirds whose conversations still manage to sound like a nasty argument. Again, Cantonese conversations are exceedingly loud, and while I am considered way too loud in both the US and South Korea, I am considered quiet and inaudible in Hong Kong. Exceedingly loud conversations, and the inconsiderateness in refusing to quiet down, are my biggest pet peeves both in Chinese-speaking areas and in Chinese enclaves stateside, and rival the Korean rudeness on matters of my personal life and religious beliefs.
