Height: 63cm (24 3/4in.). Width: 145cm (55 1/4in.) N.B. As the piece is quilted to a backing fabric with no apparent warp or weft, measurements were taken as Height and Width.

  • Type: Chef de piece
  • Inscribed: Stamp at one end bearing the mark of Oberkampf factory in use from 1792 to 1815.(in black) Also in black: 51945, 14, RD 248 and 25. In red: M.M enclosed in a box. Handwritten in black ink: 248A. Also there are some faint impressions of other numbers which cannot be read. Note: the 5 in front on the 1945 is in a different font and a different type of ink.
