Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Cheddars Lane Sewage Pumping Station Now Cambridge Museum of technology. The clerestory is over the engine house with the two Hathorn, Davey "differential" steam pumping engines. the left hand extension houses 1909 gas engines driving centrifugal pumps. Beyond the section with clerestory are the boiler house and the tallest section is part of the loading bay where refuse was fed into the destructor cells. So - refuse was burnt to make steam to pump sewage. There's nothing new under the sun!
