Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Châtillon-Coligny, Loiret, Centre region, France.

Downtown, at the crossroad of Rue de Cullion and rue Belle Croix, stand this old "grenier à sel" where the salt was kept, at the times when it was a heavily taxed item and very much under surveillance over the whole kingdom.

Beside its front door still hangs the board where the price of the salt was chalked on. On the wall near the corner, a decorative plaque was set up showing an embossed sculpture of a smithy, with a smith preparing the shoe and the horse waiting to be shod; the plaque is dedicated to Saint Eloi.
