Description
Français : Charlet N.T. - Lithography - Vous croisez la bayonette sur les vieux amis! Vous n'êtes donc plus Français - Sheet ~33x48.5cm, picture 23.5x33cm; cette lithographie datant de 1822 porte le numéro 278 du catalogue de La Combe qui en fait la description suivante : « Deux soldats d'infanterie sont complètement ivres. Debout, et chancelant sur leurs jambes, l'un deux soutient à bras le corps et à grand'peine son camarade qui, le bras levé, semble menacer un gros et grotesque bourgeois. Celui-ci a dirigé d'un air goguenard vers les deux amis un immense riflard qu'il tient résolument dans ses mains. « Comment ! dit le troupier, vous croisez la baïonnette sur les vieux amis! Vous n'êtes donc plus Français... ». Dans le fond, à gauche, Charlet s'est représenté déjeunant avec Bellangé. Grande pièce en travers, encadrée. Après le premier tirage, ces mots : « vous n'êtes donc plus Français? » ont été effacés. » Il s’agit donc ici du 1er tirage, et on peut présumer que cet état est assez rare. A noter une large et regrettable bande d’oxydation dans les marges qui n’atteint pas le sujet ni la légende.
