Description American basketball player Charles Patterson in February 1935. At the time, Patterson was a member of the Oregon Normal School men's basketball team. He transferred to the University of Oregon for his senior year in 1935 and joined the men's basketball team. He was the first black player in the Pacific Coast Conference's Northern Division. He was inducted into the University of Oregon's Athletic Hall of Fame in 1995 and the Portland Interscholastic League Hall of Fame in 2004.
